The Roman de Renart le contrefait, a disregarded text, has been edited only once, by Raynaud, in 1914, but this edition is
unsatisfactory in many respects. The manuscript edited by Raynaud, the long version, is indeed what we can call a ''poor copy'', whose
too many corrections made by Raynaud hide all the linguistic and poetic features. The purpose of this new edition is to restore the
original text in order to reveal the linguistic peculiarities of its writer and its specific poetic.
