This research is concerned with determining the respective importance to two techniques : '' applications in the interest of the law'' and governmental orders requiring such a proceeding in the two Courts of cassation, one having provided the models for the other. It involves appreciating these techniques in relation to the overall missions imposed on these Courts in regulating judicial organisation and the legal system as a whole. It will determine wheter the Belgian judges employed the same forms of reasoning as their French equivalents.
