Hox genes and ovarian function

Units : Laboratory of Anatomy, Biomechanics and Organogenesis | ULB190

Description :

This research project is devoted to the study of Hox genes in ovarian function. Its aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of
the Hox genes expressed in the ovary, and to establish spatio-temporal expression patterns in the mammalian ovary (mouse and
bovine). These profiles will then be used to clarify the function of these genes in follicular development, abnormal ovarian function
and ovarian cancer.
The project involves various molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR, RT-qPCR and in-situ hybridization, in collaboration
with I. Demeestere's Human Reproduction Laboratory and the Animal Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory at UCLouvain.
