The JurisLab is a research unit dedicated to the law of creation and innovation. As part of an interdisciplinary approach, the JurisLab is located in the ULB FabLab where its members collaborate with academics and scientists from other ULB Faculties (Architecture, École polytechnique, Sciences). The collective and individual research conducted there specifically covers intellectual property, data, consumer, competition and unfair competition rights, as well as the interactions between them. Collective research revolves around six axes: - Intellectual property, trade secrets, data and artificial intelligence - Open creations and science - Consumption, brands, competition and personal data - Innovation and law - Arts and Law - Educational innovations The members of the JurisLab are academics and/or practitioners of the subjects concerned. They aim to contribute prospectively to the development of these subjects, taking into account the various interests involved. They enjoy full independence and autonomy in their research. They adhere to the principles of Open Data, Open Source and Open Access. Their publications are available in DI-fusion, the ULB institutional repository. The JurisLab is part of various research networks and maintains close collaborations at the national (LCII of the University of Liège) and international (Pan-European Seal Network, Global Network of Internet and Society Research Centers, G3) levels. It welcomes visiting researchers on request. The JurisLab was co-founded in 2019 by Profs. Andrée Puttemans and Julien Cabay. Prior to this date, research in the fields of activity of the JurisLab was carried out within the Economic Law Unit (under the direction of Andrée Puttemans).
