InteX aligns with the EIT Manufacturing flagship “Human-machine co-working for socially sustainable manufacturing” by proposing the first commercial, AI enabled plaorm for the evaluaon of exoskeletons in the manufacturing and construcon sectors. InteX will allow tesng and comparison of industrial exoskeletons in a realisc manner without having to incur the expensive costs in materials and me that in situ tesng would otherwise require. InteX consists of: • test beds that include all the necessary devices (HW, sensors and actuators) to evaluate exoskeletons from different perspecves (ergonomics, producvity, safety), • mix-and-match modules to facilitate applicaon of the technology and methodologies to the broad needs of the potenal customer base, • AI-powered algorithms to allow efficient and meaningful evaluaons according to the customer's needs and objecves. The impact of Intex will be realized by a technology product and services company that: • allows wearable providers to boost the success of their developments when introducing new devices to the market • allows manufacturing end users to more easily adopt wearables by lowering the costs of economic and safety evaluaons prior to heavy investment in these new technologies Overall, InteX will posively impact the manufacturing ecosystem by removing barriers to the adopon of wearable systems that can increase producvity and protect worker health. In turn, these developments will impact society by improving job quality and workspace condions for a broad spectrum of workers in manufacturing. Thanks to InteX, increased adopon of exoskeleton in the industry will give more females access to quality jobs on the factory floor, will extend the longevity of workers aged 45-65 in physically demanding occupaons and lower barriers to job markets experienced by the physically challenged. Finally, Intex reduces costs and burdens on health and social services related to workplace injuries
