Global Law - Globalization of Justice and Comparative Law

Units : Perelman Center for legal philosophy | ULB055

Description :

The aim of this research program on global justice and comparative law is twofold. First, the objective of the program is to
confirm the hypothesis of the convergence of domestic laws at a global level. Second, the research aims at studying - trough the
comparison of the main human rights systems - the effect of the method of legal comparison, used by the main actors of global justice,
on the legal interpretation and the case law. In this context, possible effects of competition between different legal orders must
be assessed. More specifically, the research would carry out a comprehensive study comparing the work of the European Court of
Human Rights and the United States Supreme Court.
