The development of randomized studies aiming to evaluate the efficacy of health professionals' psychological training. The
evolution of therapeutics and techniques in oncology involves a specific psychological training of clinicians. One of the enduring aims
of this project is to design a psychological training program for health care professionals (mostly physicians, nurses and
psychologists) taking care of patients and their relatives. The current project aims to assess the impact of a basic training in
communication skills followed by consolidation workshop on the transfer of skills to the clinical practice and on the support offered by
physicians to patients and their relatives. This kind of project will allow ultimately to study the impact of communication skills,
not only on the support given to patients and their family and on their quality of life but also on compliance to treatment and
survival.  This project has the advantage to study the role of the physicians in the support given to patients and their relatives. 
The impact of training will be assessed in a randomised study on the one hand on changes in physicians' attitudes, stress levels
and communication skills and on the other hand on changes in patients' and their relatives' satisfaction about care and emotional
adaptation.
